Active participation of parents, educators and students in health promotion schools is an effective step in enabling students for self-care. According to WEBDA, on the margins of the National Monitoring Plan of 5-star health promotion schools of universities of medical sciences in the great Khorasan, Director of Population, Family, and School Health stated that the Health Promotion Schools Plan is a global movement for the promotion of health. With active participation of parents, educators and students and with the approach of enabling students regarding self-care and education of peers, this plan will lead to high quality education and increased capacities and abilities of people regarding living and working healthily. Dr. Hamed Ghazavi stated that the Comprehensive Health Education Plan, delivery of clinical services, environmental health, improvement of nutrition, physical activity, promotion of staff health, mental health and counseling services, participation of parents and the society in health promotion plans at schools and student health volunteers network are among the factors effective in the promotion of health of health promotion schools. Director of Population, Family, and School Health of the Department of Health of the university pointed out that the Health Promotion Schools Plan was launched across the country since the academic year 2010-2011 on the basis of a joint memorandum between the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education and the Education Ministry. He added that last year, the Health Promotion School Plan was implemented in 19 thousand and 201 schools at the national level, 1 thousand and 490 schools in Khorasan Razavi Province, and a total of 521 schools in South and North Khorasan. Dr. Ghazavi pointed out that out of 2 thousand and 266 5-star schools of the country, 71 schools will undergo national monitoring based on the notified program. 5 of these schools are related to the national zone 7 of health of adolescents and schools in Khorasan Razavi, North and South Khorasan. He added that monitoring of schools of this region is being performed on the responsibility of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences attended by experts of the Ministry as well as authorities of Health of Adolescents and Schools of universities of medical sciences and the accompaniment of health authorities of Khorasan Directorate General of Education in two phases. It is worth mentioning that in the first phase of the National Monitoring Plan in March 2017, the selected schools from universities of Neyshabur and Sabzevar were evaluated.
