Deputy of Department of Health of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences pointed to planning for the implementation of 405 health projects in areas affiliated to this university and stated that 223 of these projects have been launched this year.

Pointing that these projects will be constructed in the form of health houses, health centers, and health services comprehensive centers based on a memorandum of understanding concluded with the Ministry of Health, Dr. Hamidreza Bahrami stated that according to this memorandum of understanding, 50 percent of the construction costs of these projects is funded by the Ministry of Health, and the university has responsibility for providing the land as well as preparations for the implementation of the projects.

He emphasized that for these projects, health philanthropists, municipalities, Astan Qods Razavi, and the Housing and Urban Development Organization will have a major role in the realization of health goals and development of health and infrastructural services.

He stated that the majority of projects that have not yet been launched are related to the city of Mashhad and added that provision of the land needed is the main challenge in the holy city of Mashhad. To meet these challenges, consultations have been held with the municipality and Astan Qods Razavi and they have promised to assist with these projects.

Deputy of Department of Health of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences pointed out that lack of appropriate health infrastructure, and leasehold and worn-out property has been among the problems in the area of health that has cause delivery of improper services to people. He stated that implementation of these projects and the cooperation of other organizations and health philanthropists are considered as effective steps in the improvement of health services and development of health infrastructure.
