Rejecting doubts that the Health System Reform Plan has only been successful in large cities, the President of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences stated that in addition to Mashhad, the packages of this plan have been implemented in all cities affiliated to this university in Khorasan Razavi.

Dr. Mostafa Mehrabi added that some packages of the Health System Reform Plan, such as physicians’ stay in disadvantaged areas, have only been implemented in the cities of Khorasan Razavi.

According to him, promotion of services of physician office visits, promotion of vaginal delivery and reduction of caesarean, performing hoteling in hospitals, reduction of health-care franchise received from patients, and physicians’ stay in disadvantaged areas are among the packages of the Health System Reform Plan.

Pointing to the construction of 105 LDRs (Labor Delivery Room Beds) in areas affiliated to Mashhad University of Medical Sciences and in order for the promotion of vaginal delivery and reduction of caesarean, the President of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences stated that 73 delivery beds have been constructed in hospitals of cities of Sarakhs, Khaf, Taybad, Fariman, Kalat, Chenaran, Dargaz, Ghouchan, Kashmar, and Bardaskan.

According to him, 32 of delivery beds have been constructed in four hospitals of Mashhad, named Omolbanin (AS), Imam Reza (AS), Hasheminejad, and Ghaem (AS).

Dr. Mehrabi added that in recent years, specialized clinics have been constructed for outpatient visits in cities affiliated to Mashhad University of Medial Sciences in an area of 17 thousand 400 square meters, 11 thousand 400 square meters of which are in Mashhad and the rest has been constructed in Bardaskan, Khaf, Golbahar, Ghouchan, Sarakhs, and Taybad.

The President of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences informed of projects of cancer screening and diagnosis and chemotherapy centers being constructed in areas affiliated to Mashhad University of Medical Sciences and added that in addition to two hospitals in Mashhad, this project is being constructed in hospitals of Ghouchan and Kashmar and has made 60 percent of progress on average.

Pointing to the utilization of 161 special hospital beds such as the CCU and ICU beds in the affiliated regions in recent years, he stated that 34 of these beds have been constructed in cities of Ghouchan, Kashmar, Bardaskan, Khaf, Kalat, and Roshtkhar and the rest have been utilized in hospitals of Mashhad.
