Scientific Pre-Meeting for International Halal Products Conference Held

At the same time with the Keramat (munificence) decade, the first scientific pre-meeting for the international halal products titled ‘the criterion for halal food in the Razavi tradition’ was held in cooperation with Razavi Islamic Sciences University in the Holy Shrine Emam Reza.

According to WebDa, Vice-Deputy for Food and Drug of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences and the executive secretary of the conference congratulated on the Keramat (munificence) decade and the birth anniversary of Emam Reza (pbuh) and said: “in line with selecting and introducing Mashhad as the cultural capital of the Islamic World in 2017 and as the need to promote the culture of halal products in national and regional levels is felt, the first international halal products conference will be held 13 to 15 December, 2017 hosted by Mashhad University of Medical Sciences”.

Besides expressing consent with holding this meeting, Dr. Mohammadreza Saberi said: “as the comprehensive theme of halal products includes food, drugs and any other areas in which the idea of ‘being halal’ is concerned, this will be a provincial- and national-level conference whose chief will be the political, security and social deputy of the Governor General and the head of food, health and security of the Province and the related secretariats are deployed in the university; scientific, executive and religious sections also take part in the conference”.

The executive secretary of the first international halal conference announced that the deadline to submit paper abstracts is September 22^nd; he added: “those who are interested in obtaining more information might visit  http://cong-halal-iran۲۰۱۷.mums.ac.ir and halalproducts@  telegram channel”.

Hojjat al-Islam, Dr. Mahmud Tabatabaei-head of office of the representative of the Supreme Leader in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences and the scientific secretary of the conference said: “the first international halal products conference will be held with the aim of investigating issues and research gaps in the areas of food, drugs, cosmetic products, etc. In line with better holding this conference, Memorandums of Understanding have been held with domestic and foreign scientific-research centers that play a major role in realizing the goals of this conference”.

The scientific secretary of international halal food conference noted that the main themes of this conference include: Shariah and halal products, research, technology and halal products and the economy of halal products”.

It should be noted that ‘being halal in the slaughterhouse of the modern food security’, ‘criteria for halal food in the Razavi tradition’, etc. were among the themes that were discussed in the first scientific pre-meeting for the international halal products.
