Performing the 575^th Organ Donation Operation in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences

In Mashhad University of Medical sciences, Organ donation of a brain death woman saves lives of several patients

According to WEBDA, the 575^th organ donation operation from a brain death patient, Masoumeh Gavahi,62, transferred to transplantation unit of Mashhad university from  Ghaem hospital, was done following to the approval of her brain death and family consent in Motaserieh hospital.

Dr. Ebrahim Khaleghi added that her kidneys were donated for free to a 55 year old man and a 64 year old woman in Mashhad suffering from kidney failure for years and being treated by dialysis.

 He stated that her liver was sent to Namazi hospital, Shiraz and her corneas were sent to Khatamolanbia Hospital, Mashhad for organ transplantation.
