Approving a Strategic Plan in the Board of Directors of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences
With the purpose of setting a five-year horizon for the university, a strategic plan was approved at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.
Breaking this news, Dr. Seyyed Mohammad Hossein Bahreini, Deputy of Expanding Management and Resources in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences added: as the previous strategic plan expired, the significance of developing a new strategic plan as a higher order document to achieve long-term objectives in the university was increasingly felt; thus, development of a strategic plan was approved in the board of directors of the university and its responsibility was relegated to the Deputy of Expanding Management and Resources, reported WebDa.
Dr. Bahreini stated: in this regard, after the secretariat for developing the strategic plan was formed in the Administrative Development and Renovation Management, the commission of strategic plan as well as the specialized task force for developing the strategic plan of the university were established with the presence authorized representatives of all deputies and the chancellor’s office. After a brief review of previous plans of the university, this commission decided that the strategic plan be developed within the specialized task force and the results be discussed in sessions held by the commission. To this aim, besides evaluating higher order documents, the status quo and capabilities of the university in terms of strategic level managers, the specialized task force developed the mission, perspectives, and basic values of the university.
Revealing details about this plan, Mohsen Sadeghpour, manager of Administrative Development and Renovation continued: to develop the strategic plan of the university, after the specialized task force was formed by expert counselors and the status quo was scored, the strategic situation of the university was determined defensively and appropriate strategies were derived using binary analysis of internal and external factors.
Head of Administrative Development and Renovation finally added: to develop the strategic plan of the university, besides holding 6 commission sessions and 32 specialized work group sessions, the plan was discussed twice in the Plan Headquarters of the university and two board of directors sessions were held, with more than 2500 persons/hours spent on expert work in the secretariat with hopes that these efforts, which reflect a desired future for the university be approved by God.
