1200 Hospital Beds Added to Mashhad University of Medical Sciences

Vice Deputy for Treatment at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences referred to the fact that implementing the Health Reform Plan brought about a revolution in the area of health and treatment; he said: “1200 hospital beds have been added to the sum of beds under coverage of this university”.

According to WebDa, in the sideline of operationalizing the digital radiology ward of Shahid Modarres Hospital of Kashmar, Dr. Shapour Badiei said: “Mashhad is a big center to which patients from various parts of the country refer; however, it has very old hospitals such as Emam Reza hospital (83 years old), Qaem hospital (50 years old) and Shariati hospital (60 years old). This had caused many problems providing appropriate services for the patient”. 

He noted: “as the Health Reform Plan was implemented and the government payed more attention to the area of health, a substantial development took place in this area and today health and treatment services have obviously improved throughout the Province”.

Referring to the fact that easy access to health services is an important goal, Vice Deputy for Treatment at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences said: “in this regard, development and equipping health centers in the counties have been put on the agenda and specialized clinics, childbirth blocks, and hospitals have been constructed”.

Appreciating the attempts made in the area of health and treatment in Kashmar County, Dr. Badiei said: “efforts are made to turn Kashmar into a treatment hub of the university by allocating proper budgets and expanding infrastructures so that Khalilabad and Bardaskan counties can benefit from such services”.

He said: “with the attempts made, Shahid Modarres and Hazrat Abolfazl hospitals ranked first which indicates ongoing work done by the authorities of this County”.

Vice Deputy for Treatment at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences said that the activities in the area of health and treatment have been intense; he hoped that this trend continues so that goals of the health system i.e. ‘the healthy human, the axis of sustained development’ be achieved.
