Science and Research Are the Absolute Keys to the Country’s Development

November 20^th is named as “The World Science Day for Peace and Development” with the objective of emphasizing the significance of applying sciences in the developmental procedure of the countries and decreasing the gap between science and society, as well. There are attempts to attract people’s attention to the importance of the role that science plays in global development. Another objective in this day is to benefit the public in accordance with their skills and specialties.

The supreme leader have constantly emphasized that science and research are the absolute keys to the country’s development, and scientism and being science-oriented must be dominant in the society in each and every aspects. Today’s Iranian generation possesses the abilities and facilities to program development in science and research and their implementation; therefore, the overall atmosphere in the country must be focused on science and research promotion, production and development, plus educating and training scientists and researchers.

This particular concern about science and sensible advances in this scope are formed in the country in such a condition that there has always been a distant gap between modern science and technology in the developed world and developing and third world countries which is getting deeper day by day.

The supreme leader has always emphasized to attempt to decrease the gap between the scientific advances of the third world and developed countries. In fact with strong will, attempts and self-confidence, scientific and technology monopolies can be surpassed to achieve outstanding success through these endeavors.

A comparison of the country’s movement today with the past indicates that the situation is a hopeful and satisfying one. Though in those years, we could not think of resolving the need for specialist forces to witness such growth and acceleration going on in the country. Now, it is actually substantiated.

Meanwhile, the universities play a key role in scientific production. Medical sciences universities also have an influential role in scientific production to offer further services to human beings. In medical sciences universities, all measures, in education, research, treatment or prevention, are all in all directed to serving mankind.

The advances in drug production in this decade are also undeniable. In the scope of biotechnology, at least 4 biotechnological drugs are produced in our country while the total number of biotechnological drugs all over the world is no more than 35-40 types. Another advance in Iran is regarding stem cell production. Stem cells are primary cells capable of changing to a variety of human cells that can be used in cell production and various body textures.

These are just a few among the myriad of revolutionary breakthroughs in the brilliant frame of medical advances in our home country to serve human society.

We must not ignore the ambitious perspectives that other countries have also targeted for themselves as they have generally encountered much fewer challenges than Islamic Republic of Iran. They haven’t had an imposed war and restricted resources under sanctions. Therefore, they might be much more fully prepared to take sharp strides, though the fundamental point is our almost exceptional potentials; i.e. the major well-prepared scientific forces that we possess which are generally missing in many other countries.
