Awareness-Making Campaign for Three Important Health Issues in Mashhad / Advertising through 150 Buses

The Health Deputy of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences announced that since the beginning of the awareness campaign, three important health issues including decreased salt intake, prevention and control of diarrhea, and consumption of bran for the first time in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.

According to WEBDA, Dr. Hamidreza Bahrami added that this measure is in line with the implementation of an act of the board of the health and food safety of Southern Khorasan Province, and the announced health issues change every six month.

He pointed out that notification is given on three important health issues in the first phase through bus advertising in Mashhad, and health warnings regarding salt, bran and diarrhea is announced in Mashhad using 150 buses.

He stated that the costs of notification on buses has been paid and we hope for more participation of the officials of the municipality and the bus company with the aim of health promotion of the society.

Dr. Bahrami added that bran plays a leading role in cardiovascular disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, and obesity prevention. This is despite the fact that people do not intake enough bran.

He added that people tend to consume white bread with lower amounts of bran, and people, on the other hand, do not get enough of this nutrient by bread intake.

The Health Deputy of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences stated that increased salt intake also plays a leading role in various diseases including cardiovascular ones.

According to him, notification will be given about prevention and control of diarrhea due to the approach of the hot season and spread of diarrhea.
