Conference of ‘Applications of Neurosciences’ in Mashhad

Professor of University of Münster in Germany stated that many of the social problems have their roots in cognitive and perceptual disorders of the surrounding environment,

 and everything in this area is related to the brain. Therefore, all aspects of neurosciences must be used in the treatment of diseases.

 According to WEBDA, in a conference entitled “Application of Neurosciences” in Mashhad, Professor Ali Gorji pointed to the role of neuroscientists in

 the treatment of people suffering from drug abuse and stated that addiction has directly its roots in the brain. Therefore, neuroscientists must detect

 these disorders and offer solutions for their elimination.

 He pointed out that neuroscientists can create withdrawal state in people with drug abuse by stimulating brain receptors without their becoming

 used to the applied drugs.

 He added that addiction is a cerebral phenomenon that results from changes in the brain. Therefore, lawmakers must legislate laws regarding this issue.

Professor Gorji added that in the form of a systematic scheme and with the help of scientific findings, neuroscientists can provide solutions in order to control and reduce the prevalence of addiction and the likely treatment of some patients.

Pointing to the mortality of 300 thousand people in Iran over the past decades as a result of road accidents, this neurology specialist stated that neuroscientists offered ‘the Scheme of Dealing with Neural Damage’ in the form of preventing road accidents.

He stated that road death toll was 28 thousand people the same year, while this figure dropped to 16 thousand deaths per year in partnership with neuroscientists.

He added that attention to the concept of learning in the field of education and elite management, which is considered by many countries in the world, is among the sections in which this branch of medical sciences can be active.

Professor Gorji added that studying the performance of hippocampus, for example, and its relation with other parts is effective in the process of concentration and learning. Studying the concentration elements and development of scientific methods in this area can be helpful in the teaching and learning sector in Iran.

He stated that anxiety can be controlled through controlling anxiety hormones in the society and studying the effect of air pollution in the creation of anxiety.

He pointed to the desirable development of neurosciences and stated that our country is currently in the midst of the global ranking in this branch of medicine.
