Treatment Deputy of the University, the Effective Role of the Midwives in Public Health Promotion

Treatment Deputy of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, referring to the role of midwives in public health promotion stressed the need for proper planning to use the potentialities of this group.

According to WEBDA, in the celebration of the Day of Midwifery held in Ibn Sina Hall of Nursing and Midwifery faculty, Dr. Modaqeq, appreciating the efforts of midwives in promoting public health, especially in the field of mother and baby care, pointed out: “With the implementation of Health Reform Program and delivering packages of safe delivery promotions, midwifery groups are more needed in the way of achieving success toward these service packages.”

Treatment Deputy of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences said that midwifery is a valuable profession in the society and pointed out: “Services of this group includes pre-conception, during pregnancy, and after pregnancy services as well as caring of infants and children.”

Dr. Modaqeq mentioned creating delivery blocks and developing delivery departments as important measures taken by the university in line with the Health Reform Program, and said: “With the implementation of this program in health centers, significant changes have been made in providing services to mothers and women.”

He pointed out the shortage of workforce in the field of Midwifery, and said: “According to the Ministry of Health, new Midwives will be employed in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences by contract in the current year, helping to overcome the shortage of workforce and improve these services.”

Emphasizing on proper use of midwives’ forces, Treatment Deputy of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences asked employed midwives of the university to offer their practical suggestions and help the university in planning and implementation of these plans.

It is worth mentioning that: In this event, 27 top midwives of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences were appreciated.
