In Terms of the Health Reform Plan: Enhancing Laboratory Services of Health Care Centers

Vice Deputy of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences stated: in terms of the Health Reform Plan, performing experiments in health centers has increased by three times.

In a meeting with laboratory experts of Deputy of Health in Medical Universities of the country, Dr Seyyed Kazem Farahmand stated: special things have occurred in the Health Reform Plan, especially in marginalized areas of cities and rural areas, in such a way that performing experiments has increased from 17 to 54, As reported by WedDa.

He pointed to the improvement of experiments in contingent and non-contingent diseases, elderly, children, pregnant women health care plan and emerging and re-emerging diseases as targets of Health Reform Plan.   

Vice Deputy of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences insisted: certainly, enhancing the quality and quantity of laboratory services plays a crucial role in better and effective implementation of Health Reform and Family Physician Plans.

Pointing to the role of the laboratory community, Dr Farahmand noted: currently, definite diagnosis of physicians is based on paraclinical tests and this confirms the importance of qualitative and quantitative services of laboratories in the health system of the society.

The meeting of Laboratory in-charge Experts of the Deputy of Health in Medical Universities of the country was held in Hotel Samen by Health Referent Laboratory of the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education and hosted by Deputy of Health in Medical University of Mashhad with the aim of completing and improving health laboratories in the country’s Health Reform Plan and also getting familiar with the most recent methods, techniques and policies of health laboratories around the country.

This meeting was held with the presence of Deputy of Health and Vice Deputy of Health in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, Manager of Reference Laboratory of the Ministry of Health, head of managing health laboratories of the country, an expert from Pasteur Institute, head of Family Doctor department of the Ministry of Health and a group of experts from the Ministry.

Getting familiar with factors behind emergent and re-emergent diseases, the strategic plan of health laboratory networks to combat outbreaks and cholera epidemic, how laboratory HIV detection algorithm is established, the Family Doctor and rural insurance v.17, survey and supervising health laboratory network and requirements of level three laboratories in universities were among issues that will be discussed in this 2-day meeting by professors and experts from the Ministry.
