Establishing Medical Imaging Technology Program in the Country

Medical imaging technology program (MSc) was established in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in medical physics group.

According to WEBDA, Head of Medical Physics Department declared that the MSc program for medical imaging technology was established to train necessary human resources for medical imaging centers.

Doctor Mohammad Taghi Bahreni, head of medical physics department stated that in developed countries, accurate and quick diagnosis of diseases has been facilitated by developing medical imaging technology. Due to the complexity of choosing the best technique, a team of medical and technical specialists are required in imaging centers to obtain, process and analyze images ending in a proper diagnosis.

He added that in 2016, by the approval of the Higher Council for Planning of Medical Sciences, the MSc. program for medical imaging technology was established to train necessary human resources.

The department of medical physics of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences declared its potentials considering expert academic staffs, laboratory equipment and the back ground of years of experience in training students both in MSc. and PhD of medical physics. Therefore, The University called for a new program in the field. On March 1^st, 2016, the members of the evaluation team investigated the potentialities and equipment of department, and hence they approved establishing new program of MSc in the field of medical imaging technology in department of medical physics of Mashhad university of Medical Science.
