Five Top Nanotechnology Professors Are from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences

Dean of School of Pharmacy at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences Mohsen Imen Shahidi, PhD, said that according to the list issued by Health and Medical Ministry that introduced top nanotechnology professors at universities of medical sciences across the nation, five out of 25 are from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, WEBDA reported. He noted that this indicates the high capacity of Mashhad’s School of Pharmacy and it is source of pride. Dr. Shahidi claimed that Nanotechnology Department would soon be established at the school, adding “School of Pharmacy consists of nine academic departments. Four departments were initially active and the departments of Nanotechnology, PhD of Medicine, Biotechnology, Clinical Pharmacy, and Proteomics have lately been established.” Faculty member at Mashhad’s School of Pharmacy noted that among the newly established departments, departments of Nanotechnology and Biotechnology are the best and the members of Research Center at Biotechnology Department managed to rank first in Razi Festival. “One of the elected professors was Dr. Mahmoud Reza Jafari as he is highly capable of producing knowledgeable essays,” he added. Dr. Shahidi asserted that one of the plans of Vice Presidency for Education at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences is to establish an organizational chart for the newly established academic departments at the university. “The vice presidency wishes to provide software as well as human force for the new departments. It, also, plans to acquire the approval of Health Ministry to establish departments,” he maintained. Dr. Shahidi said that he would support the accomplished academic departments, adding, “We wish to establish 2nd phase of the new building of School of Pharmacy to transfer the successful departments including Nanotechnology.” Faculty member asserted, “Six academic departments including departments of Nanotechnology, Drug Control, Traditional Pharmacy, Nuclear Pharmacy, and Proteomics would be transferred to the building in the 2nd phase of its development.”
