The Beginning of Free Health-Care Delivery Services in 5 Metropolitan Cities of the Country with the Presence of the Minister of Health

The Free Health-care Delivery Plan started simultaneously in 5 metropolitan cities of the country at a meeting in Mashhad attended by the Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education.

According to WEBDA, this plan, attended by Dr. Seyed Hasan Ghazizade Hashemi, was presented simultaneously in Mashhad, Ahvaz, Tabriz, Karaj, and Qom in the form of videoconferencing.

The Health Deputy of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences stated on the sidelines of the meeting that the Free Health-care Delivery Plan in metropolitan cities will start first in the suburbs and then in cities with a population of below 20 thousand.

Dr. Hamidreza Bahrami added that they are today witnessing active health-care delivery services in all the districts of the metropolitan city of Mashhad with a population of about 2 million.

He stated that free health-care services will be offered simultaneously in 5 health-care centers located in the city of Mashhad with the presence of the Minister of Health.

He stated that within this plan, two to three new health-care bases had been launched in every health-care center depending on its population, and a total of one thousand people including physicians, dentists, occupational environment health experts, and mental health professional have participated in this plan.

Bahrami added that every health-care professional covers about 2500 people.

According to him, active health-care delivery and the implementation of the Integration Package of preventing non-communicable diseases such as hyperbaric blood pressure, diabetes, nutritional diseases, and psychiatric diseases are among the advantages of this plan.

This meeting was attended by Alireza Rashidian, the Governor of Khorasan Razavi, Dr. Mustafa Mehrabi Bahar, Administrator of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, and other provincial and state authorities.

The Minister of Health is scheduled to attend the celebration of community health workers of the country in Mashhad Ibn Sina Amphitheater.
