Blood Transfusion Organization of Khorasan Razavi Obtained International License of Plasma Export

Director of Blood Transfusion Organization of Khorasan Razavi said: “After evaluating equipment and facilities by international inspectors, this organization obtained license of exporting plasma to other countries.”

According to WEBDA, Dr. Hamidreza Eslami said: “Currently, Iran is the only country among Islamic countriesreceiving international certificate of exporting plasma and blood products.”

He said: “Currently, 17 blood transfusion centers across the country produce plasma; three of which including Tehran, Fars, and Khorasan Razavi have earned international qualification by obtaining related certificate.”

Dr. Eslami noted: “Since the exported plasma must meet international standards, this certificate plays an important role in exporting excess plasma of the province to produce plasma-derived drugs.”

He added: “In fact, with this license, the international qualifications of technical processes of Khorasan Razavi Blood Transfusion Administration are globally approved.”

Director of Blood Transfusion Organization of Khorasan Razavi added: “Currently, Iran’s blood products are of the cleanest in the world, with minimal infection of blood products in the country.”

He noted: “Currently, Blood Transfusion Organization accredits hospitals according to blood and blood products so that 58 hospitals across Khorasan Razavi Province have been investigated and accredited by inspectors of this organization so far.”

Then, Dr. Ali Hassani, Technical Deputy of Blood Transfusion Organization of Khorasan Razavi said: “Since last year, with the elimination of deficiencies in the work environment, knowledge, and skills of staff, and establishing standard of process in the production of blood, plasma and blood products, we have achieved obtaining the certification of producing plasma and blood products.”.

He mentioned teamwork, being active and dynamic, and avoiding inactivity as elements considered by German experts in issuing the certificate..

According to him, international certification of producing plasma and blood products has been issued for Khorasan Razavi Blood Transfusion Organization with the maximum validity period, which is two years.
