Internationalizing Mashhad University of Medical Sciences: an Important Goal at Deputy for Research

Deputy for Research and Technology at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, Mohsen Tafaghodi, PhD, said that internationalizing the university and attracting students from diverse nations is of major goals at the university, WEBDA reported.

At Seminar on Promotion and Qualification of Research, he stated, “Mashhad University of Medical Sciences is of well place in regard to research and featuring specialized faculty members. This provides an ideal environment to attract students from other nations.”

Noting that having international faculty members is considered as one of the significant indicators in universities’ ranking and their attracting foreign students, Dr. Tafaghodi held, “Since this issue is currently not considered as a priority in Iran, universities are required to be boosted in terms of other scientific evaluation indicators and to acquire credible academic ranking positions.”

The one-day Seminar on Promotion and Qualification of Research, attended by Head of ISC as well as other officials and activists in this field, was held at Faculty of Medicine at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.
