Mashhad University of Medical Sciences Reached the Fourth Rank in Scientific Production

Based on the data retrieved from ISI Web of Science citation database, comparing 2016 with 2015, among all Medical Sciences Universities throughout the country, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences have achieved the 4th rank in quanitative scientific production.
According to WebDa, the Deputy of the Office of Vice President for Research and Technology in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences said: based on Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) in 2016, Islamic Republic of Iran has achieved the 17th rank in the world as far as the quantity of its scientific production in ISI Web of Science Citation Database. While in 2015, Iran was ranked as 19th. Dr. Mohsen Tafaghodi pointed out: in 2016, 1.7 percent of the total quantity of scientific production in the world has been undertaken by Iran. While in 2015, Iran’s scientific production was 1.5 percent of that of the whole world. “Considering the number of scientific degrees in the universities, research centers of the universities and research institutions in 2016 in ISI database, all universities throughout the country do not share equal rank in the quantity of their scientific production. Among Medical Sciences Universities, Tehran, Shahid Behesti, Iran and Mashhad University of Medical Sciences have achieved the highest ranks in scientific production
