The Minister of Health, Hygiene and Medical Education:

The Orientation of Our Programs Is More Directed towards Deprived Regions

Dr. Seyyed Hassan Hashemi, the minister of Health, Hygiene and Medical Education asserted: the orientation of the programs in this ministry is further directed towards deprived areas. We have had successful improvements in some of these regions, though in some other ones, little success is achieved as to lack of required conditions.

According to WebDa, in the side meetings of visiting Imam Hassan Mojtaba Hospital in Kalat, Dr. Hashemi said: in order to provide specialist doctors for various regions of the country, 30% of university capacity has been allocated to local students in recent years. In the coming years, when these medical students graduate, a portion of the shortages of specialists would surely be met.

“Considering the fact that providing equipment and offering services in various regions of the country is done in accordance with classification rules, Kalat city, with a population of 40,000 including the suburbs, requires to have more resident population in the city to receive resident specialist doctors in a variety of fields, and specialist service developments.

The Minister of Health, Hygiene and Medical Education stressed: indeed the presence of specialists in this city can resolve the problems with the collaboration of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.

Dr. Seyyed Hassan Hashemi added: insurance companies owe almost 222,860,000 dollars to Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, that’s why the university has not been able to pay the personnel and doctors in the last 12 months.

He averred: in case the university receives its money and pays its debt to the personnel, there remains a revenue of almost 35,000,000 that can be used to equip and hire more work forces.
