 A Must for Cardiac Patients

Dr. Nafiseh Saghafi, specialist in gynecology and obstetrics and associate professor of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences said: before attempting to get pregnant, all women inflicted with cardiac diseases must refer to counselling centers such as health and hygiene centers, specialists in obstetrics and gynecology or cardiac specialists in order to get permission for pregnancy.

According to WebDa, Dr. Saghafi said in press meeting: during pregnancy, as to the changes in the body, some cardiac diseases will be intensified causing irreparable harms to the mother and fetus.

As she puts it, keeping calm, controlling anxiety, and being taken care of are necessary for pregnant mothers who are inflicted with cardiac diseases.

This specialist in gynecology and obstetrics and associate professor of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences said: for an individual who is inflicted with cardiac ailments, attempting to be pregnant without receiving official permission and essential consultations accompanies many side effects such as: fetal disorders, low birth weight, stillbirth, birth with congenital cardiac disorders and obligatory abortion.

Dr. Saghafi spoke of the fact that for mothers inflicted with cardiac disorders, some symptoms might occur during pregnancy, which of course must be taken serious. These symptoms include: dry coughs, hemoptysis, extremely high/low heartbeat, high respiratory rate, feeling tired, sudden swelling, too big size of the belly, feeling liquid in the belly, stiffness or stick-like feeling in the fingers and embossed neck veins, which all call for immediate action referring to health and treatment centers to be taken care of.
