Simultaneously Nationwide, 50 Special Beds Were Put Into Operation in Centers Affiliated with University

At the same time all over the country, 50 special beds for CCU, ICU, NICU, and PICU were put into operation in medical centers affiliated with Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.

According to WEBDA, these beds were put into operation in line with the implementation of the Health System Reform Plan, with the presence of Dr. Modaqeq, the University Deputy of Treatment, a group of university administrators in the form of video conference, and at the same time, with the presence of 50 universities of medical sciences in the country in Taleghani Hospital of Mashhad.

These beds were put into operation along with all the required equipment including mattress, ventilator (adults, infants and children), steady and central monitoring, and electroshock in centers affiliated with university.

In this regard, the Deputy of Treatment of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences stated that based on the memorandum signed with the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, 150 beds have been allocated to Mashhad University of Medical Sciences. Initially, 50 special beds were put into operation.

Dr. Modaqeq pointed out that the other 100 special beds are being received from the Ministry of Health and will be put into operation by the end of May next year as planned.

According to him, the special beds will be put into operation in Bardaskan, Kaashmar, Roshtkhar, Khaf, Kalaat, Dargaz, Qouchan as well as in Imam Reza (AS), Qaem (AS), Shahid Hashemi Nejad, Omm-ol-Banin, Taleqani, and Dr. Sheikh Hospitals.

Deputy of Treatment of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences added that about a third of the special beds will be put into operation in cities affiliated with university. This will be an effective step in the development of services and preventing patient dispatch to the center of provinces.

500 special beds are currently active in centers affiliated with university. By adding 150 more beds, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences will reach the minimum required standard in terms of owning special beds.

It is worth mentioning that the main ceremony was held in the presence of the Minister of Health and Medical Education in Birjand University of Medical Sciences.

Within this program, 1714 intensive care beds were put into operation in 200 hospitals affiliated with 50 Universities of Medical Sciences in 137 cities in the country.
