Students of the Preparatory District 9 to Flourish in the Ninth Scientific Olympiad of Medical Students of the Country

 The medical students of the Preparatory District 9 (Razavi, North, and South Khorasan) flourished with 8 colorful medals on the ninth Scientific Olympiad of Medical Students of the Country.

According to WEBDA, in this competition held in Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences on September 10^th-13^th, 2017, students of the Preparatory District 9 were awarded 4 silver medals, 3 individual bronze medals, and 1 group silver medal.

In the individual section on clinical reasoning, Arefeh Qarooni and Somayeh Mehdipour from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences were awarded silver and bronze medals respectively.

In the field of philosophy of medicine, Saeed Soltani, from the Islamic Azad University, and Amirreza Liaghat, from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, were awarded silver and bronze medals respectively.

In the field of scientific thinking in basic sciences, Farbod Hatami, from Birjand University of Medical Sciences, and Neda Kamandi, from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, were awarded silver and bronze medals respectively.

Also in the field of health system management, Seyed Alireza Khadem Bashi from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences was awarded a silver medal.

It is worth mentioning that the elected team of the Preparatory District 9, consisting of Saeed Soltani, Amirreza Liaghat, Hussein Arian, and Nazgol Radvar, in the field of philosophy of medicine were awarded a group silver medal.

In the closing ceremony of the Olympiad, attended by the Minister of Health, the individual and group elected participants of the Olympiad were awarded and appreciated in the areas of clinical reasoning, medical education, philosophy of medicine, health system management, and scientific thinking in basic sciences.

It is worth mentioning that according to the Secretariat, in the ninth Olympiad, approximately 2 thousand medical students competed with each other in 5 areas, and in every area 2 groups were selected for the second stage.

The second stage the ninth Olympiad, held in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, was attended by approximately 450 students, who competed with each other individually and collectively.
