The 3^rd International Cancer Medicine Congress in Mashhad

The Third Nastaran International Cancer Medicine Congress is held in Mashhad featuring specialists in this field from Iran, Australia and Sweden.

According to WebDa, the head of Nastaran Cancer Prevention Center, Dr. MohammadTaghi MirAhmadi stated: in this congress held featuring 250 Medicine and Biology students and specialists and professors of this field from Sweden’s Karolinska Institute, a scientific institution in charge of selecting the Noble Prize winner in Medicine and Physiology, the achievements in individualist treatment and cancer prevention were presented.

“Dr. Majid EbrahimivarKiani from Australian University presented the technical knowledge of early cancer diagnosis through blood circulation cells to Nastaran Cancer Center and those who were interested in the matter”, Dr. MirAhmadi added.

Highlighting the fact that Nastaran Cancer Center actively works on developing medical research sector in preventing cancer and improving the body’s immune system, he added: in this regard we have succeeded to extract antioxidants like Ellagic acid from pomegranate, Curcumin from turmeric and Crosin from Saffron. These substances are recognized as the elements found in nature that strengthen the body’s immune system and are effective in cancer prevention.

The head of Nastaran Cancer Prevention Center said: within spring 2017, this center will operationalize the first and the only Liquid Biopsy Laboratory including CTC and CT DNA in the country in clinical diagnostic services sector in Mashhad City. By a few blood drops, the residents can become aware if there are cancerous cells in their blood circulation.

Dr. MirAhmadi added: this center is being equipped with the collaboration of the following universities: Sweden’s Karolinsla University, Tokyo, Sydney, Harvard, John Hopkins and New York. The project has 85% development rate.

Also the scientific secretary of this congress, Dr. MohammadErfan Maghsoud, said: a very limited number of countries have undertaken successful measures in early diagnosis of cancer through cancerous cells in blood circulation. This technology is not still common in Iran. Finding cancerous cells in blood circulation before the cancerous mass is shaped is a significant factor in its prevention.

Dr. Maghsoud considered environmental factors like air pollution, noise waves, chemical substances, preservatives as the cause of 95% of cancers. He asserted that: in this congress our major emphasis is on presenting strategies in order to have early diagnosis of cancer.
