The Transplant Clinic of Chronic Lung Diseases Has Been Launched in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences

The Director of Internal Diseases Department of Mashhad University of MedicalSciences announced that in the near future, in this hospital, the transplant clinic of chronic lung diseases will be established. 

Dr. David Attaran states, pointing to this clinic as the second clinic established in Iran, this clinic will be launched in order to provide services to the patients in need of the lung transplant with incurable lung problems and the waiting list for the lung transplant patients; reported by WEBDA.  

The professor of Internal Diseases Department of Mashhad University of medical Sciences pointed out that various services have been delivered to the patients with lung problems in care centers covered by the university. He said that these services have been delivered in form of diagnosis and treatment of patients with cancers and infections, chemical veterans, environmental and occupational disability and the patients with respiratory disorders.

He, as a lung specialist in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, stated, by referring to the installation and operation of bronchoscopy in Qaem Hospital, that by operating this device, we can directly observe the airways of inside the lungs and treat the diseases.  

He pointed out that the lung department of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences has 10 young and active faculty members in two centers (Qaem hospital and Imam Reza hospital) with considerable scientific and research capabilities. He continued that now, in this department, different levels are educated including general medicines, internal specialism and lung specialized trainees.

Dr. David Attaran, as the member of Lung Diseases Researches Center in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences referred to the activities of this center since 2008 in this university. He added that this center works in order to organize the studies, deliver the effective solutions for healthcares, apply practical researches and support the researchers in this field due to the research priorities.
