Mashhad University of Medical Sciences Achievement:

The Third Rank in the Scope of Research for Two Consecutive Years

As to the best efforts of researchers in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, this university has successfully achieved the third rank for two consecutive years in the scope of research in the most recent rankings of Research and Technology Administration of the Ministry of Health, Hygiene and Medical Education.

According to WebDa, the Deputy of Research and Technology Administration at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, Dr. Mohsen Tafaghodi,  asserted: according to the 2015 ranking announced by the Research and Technology Administration in the Ministry of Health, Hygiene and Medical Education, this university has succeeded to achieve the third rank among universities of medical sciences in the country.

He pointed out that in this ranking, universities of medical sciences through the country are evaluated on the basis of scientific production, and structure. Mashhad University of Medical Sciences is ranked the third after Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Shahid Beheshti University.

The Deputy of Research and Technology Administration of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences emphasized: the first and foremost aim of Ministry of Health, Hygiene and Medical Education is elevation in scientific and practical levels resulting from researches and increased scientific efficiency.

Emphasizing the serious concern of the Ministry of Health and Hygiene on more active participation of universities of medical sciences in international competitions, he asserted: accordingly, aiming at elevation in health-related services and higher correspondence with international ranking indices, there was a revision and reconsideration on ranking the research activities in universities of medical sciences.

Dr. Tafaghodi drew attention to the measures undertaken in the scope of research last year and stated: among these measures are executing technology-related projects such as providing clean rooms to produce biotechnological medicine and medical products, developing knowledge-oriented companies, supporting to record the inventions within the country and to bind US patent contract (recording the patent in America) and supporting the plans to create or provide samples in order to obtain the license to hold health-technology workshops.

“This successful ranking which is a significant achievement for the university this year is the result of the efforts and endeavors of faculty members, researchers and students”, he averred and congratulated this achievement and wished increasing success for university’s extensive family in elevating the scientific and research status of the university and achieving a position befitting the name and credibility of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.
