Assigning 170 billion Rials to Improve Hoteling of Qaem Hospital in Mashhad

Manager of Hoteling Plan in Qaem Hospital in Mashhad said: this center is among the seven major hospitals throughout the country for which the Ministry of Health have assigned special budget to improve their hoteling.

Dr. Alireza Javan added: this year, the Ministry of Health has assigned 170 billion Rials to improve hoteling of Qaem Hospital in Mashhad and this has been communicated from last May.

He continued: Qaem Hospital with a 50-year background has 54 active wards and 24 operating rooms.

Manager of Hoteling Plan in Qaem Hospital in Mashhad stated: hoteling services is one of Health Reform Plan packages which is being implemented besides other packages such as: franchise reduction, doctors’ residency, durability, surveillance and promoting natural childbirth.

He mentioned to improving the atmosphere of patients’ room, improving cooling and heating systems, toilets, patient residence, nurse resting rooms, and facilities of patients’ rooms as measures in the area of hoteling.

Dr. Javan added: currently, the improvement and reconstruction operation of seven wards of Qaem Hospital including neurosurgery and heart wards with total capacity of 100 beds is being run.

Vice Deputy of Health in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences also said in this regard: hoteling services is one of the packages of Health Reform Plan that is especially devised for particular hospitals.

Dr. Mahin Ghorban Sabbagh added: by improving the hoteling project in Qaem Hospital the problem of extra beds will be reduced.

She added: the problem of hospitalizing patients in the halls of Qaem Hospital during some seasons of the year is not new since this hospital is the only neural emergency center in the east of the country and we cannot refrain from receiving patients in this hospital.

She continued: when hospitalizing patients in some wards reaches its full capacity (more than 100 percent), we are forced to use extra beds.

Vice Deputy of Health in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences said: on the other hand, Qaem Hospital does not cover only the population of Mashhad and other Khorasan Razavi townships, since regarding the touristic occasion of Mashhad, patients refer to this hospital from all over the country.
