The Department of Clinical Biochemistry at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences (MUMS) stands as a cornerstone of academic and diagnostic excellence within the School of Medicine. With a legacy rooted in the foundational work of its pioneers, the department has evolved into a multidisciplinary academic hub that seamlessly integrates basic science education with high-stakes clinical diagnostics. Our department operates at the intersection of molecular medicine and clinical practice, providing essential biochemical analysis for the university’s major teaching hospitals, including Imam Reza (AS) and Ghaem (AJ) Hospitals. Our Expertise

The Department of Clinical Biochemistry is dedicated to the advancement of biochemical sciences through three core pillars:

• Comprehensive Education: We are responsible for designing and delivering theoretical and practical biochemistry curricula for all students across the various schools of the university.
• Advanced Postgraduate Training: Building on our academic heritage, we launched our M.Sc. program in Clinical Biochemistry in 2006, followed by the establishment of our Ph.D. program in 2014, training the next generation of researchers and scholars.
• Clinical Laboratory Oversight: Our faculty members play a critical role in the healthcare system by providing scientific and technical leadership for the clinical laboratories of Imam Reza (AS) and Ghaem (AJ) Hospitals, ensuring high-quality diagnostic services for our patients.
