Dean’s Message
Welcome to the School of Paramedical and Rehabilitation Sciences
Welcome to the Faculty of Paramedical and Rehabilitation Sciences at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, where scientific rigor, clinical expertise, and compassionate service come together in allied health education.
As one of the leading paramedical and rehabilitation schools in Iran, we are committed to academic excellence, advanced laboratory training, and comprehensive student support. At our faculty, students embark on a transformative journey guided by distinguished faculty members, specialized laboratories, and a dynamic academic community. Whether your goal is to become a skilled laboratory scientist, an expert radiologist-in-training, an optometrist, a pioneering researcher, or a future leader in allied health sciences, our undergraduate and postgraduate programs are designed to help you reach your full potential and make a meaningful contribution to the profession and society. We invite you to join our faculty and be part of shaping the future of paramedical and rehabilitation sciences.
A Legacy of Excellence
The Faculty of Paramedical and Rehabilitation Sciences holds a proud legacy as one of the pioneering centers of allied health education in Iran. Established in 1972 as the Nursing Institute of Mashhad, it admitted students in Nursing, Midwifery, Radiology, and Laboratory Sciences. Following the Revolution, the institute was renamed the Narjes Nursing and Midwifery Higher Education Institution, laying the foundation of an enduring academic institution dedicated to training skilled healthcare professionals.
Evolution and Growth
From our early years, we have steadily expanded our scope and reputation. A pivotal moment occurred in 1986, when—following the establishment of the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education—the institute merged with the Jorjani Nursing and Midwifery Educational-Research Complex to form the Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery, and Paramedical Sciences. In 1991, the faculty was restructured into two independent schools: the Faculty of Health and Paramedical Sciences and the Jorjani Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery. The Optometry Department was added in 1993, and after operating at Qaim Hospital and later Palestine Boulevard, the faculty moved in 2016 to its modern campus at the University Campus (Kharazmi Building). Today, we stand as a comprehensive faculty offering continuous, non-continuous bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs across 7 educational departments.
