International Student Application Guide

1. General Eligibility Criteria

Prospective international students must meet the following requirements to be considered for admission:

• Legal Eligibility: Applicants must have the legal capacity to reside and study in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
• Medical Clearance: Candidates must provide a valid medical certificate confirming they are free from infectious and contagious diseases, specifically HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C. The certificate must explicitly state that the applicant is free from drug dependency and any medical condition incompatible with the medical profession. This document must be legalized by the Diplomatic Mission or Consulate of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the applicant’s home country.
• Academic Prerequisites: Applicants must hold the required academic degrees corresponding to their chosen level of study (see the table below).
• Compliance: Admitted students are expected to strictly adhere to the academic and disciplinary regulations of MUMS.

Academic Degree Requirements

(Note: Applicants graduating from non-Iranian educational institutes must have their degree certificates legalized by the Iranian Embassy or Consulate in their country of origin.)

2. Application Dossier

To apply, please prepare an application folder containing the following documents:

• Application Form: Two (2) completed and signed copies.
• Curriculum Vitae (CV): An up-to-date academic profile.
• Degree Certificates: Copies of the most recent degree(s), translated into English, and legalized by the Iranian Embassy/Consulate. (Note: Originals must be submitted upon registration.)
• Academic Transcripts: Copies of all transcripts, legalized by the Iranian Embassy/Consulate.
• Passport: Two (2) copies of all pages.
• Photographs: Three (3) recent passport-sized photos (3×4 cm).
• Medical Certificate: Original medical clearance (as specified above), legalized by the Iranian Embassy/Consulate.

Submission Process:Submit the complete dossier to: International Students Admission Committee, International Office, Main Building, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, P.O. Box: 91735-951, Mashhad, I. R. IRAN.

Important: Incomplete folders will not be processed.

3. Important Policies & Considerations

• Language of Instruction: The medium of instruction at MUMS is Persian. Admitted students must successfully complete a Persian language proficiency course at a university-approved Persian Language Center before commencing their academic program. Proof of language proficiency is mandatory.
• Diploma Evaluation: High school diplomas or equivalent qualifications must be evaluated and approved by the corresponding authorities at the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
• Exemptions: Degrees previously obtained from Iranian universities are exempt from re-evaluation.
• Interviews: The International Students Admission Committee reserves the right to conduct an interview with applicants if deemed necessary.
• Tuition Fees: All tuition fees must be settled in full upon registration or at the beginning of each academic semester.
• Notification: The university will notify applicants of their admission status within three months of receiving the complete application dossier.
