Department of Oral Health and Community Dentistry

Overview
The Department of Oral Health and Community Dentistry addresses the social determinants of oral health. We bridge the gap between individual clinical care and population-level health, recognizing that oral well-being is deeply influenced by socioeconomic, cultural, and environmental factors. Our goal is to promote equitable access to care and empower communities to maintain their oral health.
Our Expertise
Our faculty specializes in public health strategy, epidemiological research, and community engagement. We integrate clinical dentistry with public health policy to reduce oral health disparities. By analyzing the social impact of dental diseases, we design evidence-based solutions that extend beyond the dental clinic to the broader community.
Community & Preventive Initiatives
We lead a wide range of preventive and outreach programs, including:
- Population-Level Prevention: Implementing oral health promotion strategies for diverse and underserved communities.
- Policy Advocacy: Collaborating with health authorities to prioritize oral health in public policy.
- Community Outreach: Targeted dental care, screening, and education for high-risk populations.
- School-Based Health: Assessing and improving the oral health status of students through proactive educational initiatives.
Educational & Research Mission
We are committed to training future leaders in dental public health. Our educational programs focus on epidemiological research, social dentistry, and health management. Our research initiatives aim to identify health disparities and develop sustainable, community-focused strategies to improve oral health outcomes on a national scale.
