Caretaker of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences announced that enhancing the quality and quantity of services based on policies of the government and the Ministry of Health is a main goal of this university. According to WebDa, in the ceremony to glorify and introduce the chancellor of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences that was held with the presence of a panel of authorities from the Ministry of Health, Governor General of Khorasan Razavi, Provincial managers, managers and deputies of the university, faculty members, university staff and students in Ebn Sina Hall, Dr. Mohammad Reza Darabi Mahbub pointed out that the load of moral responsibility that is laid on my shoulder is heavier than the executive responsibility. He said: “as well as providing education, universities of medical sciences throughout the country provide services in the areas of treatment, health, food and drugs that are directly connected to people’s health; this suggests a heavy responsibility that is placed on the universities”. Dr. Darabi noted that with 760 faculty members, 9228 students, 15 health and treatment networks, 30 hospitals and 25000 staff, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences is considered as one of the oldest and biggest universities of the country and it is progressing in the areas of education, research, health, treatment, development, food, drugs, students and culture according to policies communicated by the Supreme Leader, the 2025 vision plan, higher order documents, the sixth plan of development and the goals of the Ministry of Health. Pointing out the importance of paying attention to people’s demands, he said: “qualitative and quantitative development of education and promoting ethics is a key goal”. Referring to the fact that ethics is more important than education, caretaker of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences said: “a physician who is trained to preserve ethics, regard people as their benefactors and feels responsible about their health”. Pointing to the Leader’s statement that people should not suffer from anything but the disease, Dr. Darabi said: “in this regard, expanding health care, pre-hospital and hospital emergency services is another goal”. Noting that prevention is better than cure and attempts should be made to alter people’s lifestyle, identify and eliminate non-contingent diseases, he said: “if attention is directed to this issue, certainly the nation’s need to hospital beds will be reduced”. Caretaker of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences mentioned that people’s need to the main drugs is vital and said: “we shall act in a way that people’s need to drugs be fulfilled”. “With optimal management”, Dr. Darabi added: “healthy food that is the foundation of people’s health should become available to all people”. He said: “to achieve these goals, we need cooperation from the large family of the university as well that of various provincial organizations, especially the Office of General Governor, Astan Quds Razavi, Municipality, the city council, the Office of Governor, and universities and faculties of medical sciences”. |
