Overview

The Central Medical Library at Ghaem (Qaem) Academic Medical Center serves as a vital clinical and academic information hub. It supports medical education, biomedical research, and evidence-based clinical practice by procuring, organizing, and disseminating specialized health sciences literature. Leveraging modern medical librarianship methodologies and digital health information technologies, the library facilitates continuous learning and evidence-based decision-making for clinicians, researchers, and allied healthcare professionals.

Mission, Organizational Mandate & Vision

• Mission:

  To advance educational and biomedical research endeavors across the center and support institutional health improvement initiatives by providing streamlined, equitable access to specialized medical resources and evidence-based information.

• Organizational Mandate:

  As a foundational academic pillar of Ghaem Hospital, the library systematically develops, indexes, and maintains specialized collections aligned with the curricular and clinical information needs of faculty members, healthcare professionals, and medical trainees.

• Vision:

  To align library operations with national hospital library standards established by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, maintaining its standing as the leading clinical library within Mashhad University of Medical Sciences (MUMS).

Eligible User Groups

Access to facilities, physical collections, and digital biomedical resources is designated for:

1. Academic Faculty: Active and retired faculty members of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.
2. Medical Trainees & Students: Students and trainees across all academic tiers (Undergraduate, Graduate, MD, Residency, Clinical Subspecialty Fellowships, and Postdoctoral programs).
3. Clinical & Institutional Staff: Hospital and university personnel with verified institutional information requirements.
4. Partner Institution Members: Registered users eligible under the inter-library cooperation agreement between the Central Library of MUMS and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM).

Operating Hours

• Circulation (Lending), Reference Services, Digital Information & Collaborative Learning Stations:

  • Saturday – Wednesday: 07:00 – 19:00
  • Thursday: 07:00 – 13:00

• Quiet Study Halls:

  • Daily (Including Official Holidays): 07:00 – 24:00
