Overview

The Faculty of Health is one of the largest and most dynamic medical faculties at MUMS. We are dedicated to improving social and health outcomes through world-class research and applied learning. Our faculty bridges theoretical rigorousness with interdisciplinary field work, preparing graduates for impactful careers in hospitals, public healthcare settings, and industry.

Institutional History

The foundation of the faculty traces back to the early health science initiatives in Mashhad 80 years ago. After evolving through various academic structures and the national integration of the PHC (Primary Healthcare) network, the current Faculty of Health was independently established in 2009. Today, we are proud to be ranked among the top five health faculties in Iran.

Academic Scope

• Departments: We operate across seven key areas: Health Education & Promotion, Management Sciences & Health Economics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Safety & Environment (HSE), Occupational Health, and Environmental Health.
• Research Infrastructure: Our facilities include specialized laboratories for Hydraulic Analysis, Instrumental Analysis, Environmental Chemistry, and Microbiology.
• Faculty Expertise: Comprised of 48 members, including 11 full professors, 14 associate professors, and 23 assistant professors.

Achievements & Mission

We consistently produce 140+ graduates annually across bachelor, master, and PhD programs. Our mission is to lead in addressing global health challenges by fostering a research-driven environment. As the Dean notes, “Health sciences are the cornerstone of population well-being; our commitment is to provide the evidence-based knowledge necessary to protect and improve community health standards.”
