A Legacy of Excellence

The School of Medicine at MUMS holds a distinguished place as one of Iran’s oldest and most prestigious medical institutions.

• The Early Seeds (1939): Established as the Higher School of Health to meet the region’s urgent medical needs.
• Evolution (1949): Officially inaugurated as the Faculty of Medicine, becoming the first academic medical center in the region.
• Modern Era (1986): Transitioned into an independent medical university (MUMS), expanding into a hub for specialized healthcare and global research.
