The Effect of Two Reporting Methods: Video Recording and Training Workshop
Comparison of the Effect of Two Reporting Methods: Video Recording and Training Workshop on the Quality of Neonatal Resuscitation.
Researchers in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences have studied the effect of two reporting methods: video recording and training workshop on the quality of neonatal resuscitation.
In this semi-experimental three-group study, 90 neonatal resuscitations in three groups: reporting, training workshop and control in Ommol-Banin Hospital in Mashhad were recorded using a camera, reported WebDa.
The head of Pediatrics Department of Midwifery and Nursing Faculty of Mashhad said about methodology of this research: at first 30 control resuscitations were recorded. In the second stage, the resuscitation team participated in resuscitation training workshops. In the third stage, the resuscitation team took part in reporting sessions. After each second and third stage, the resuscitation was recorded and evaluated using Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP, 2011) quality control checklist.
Hamidreza Behnam Vashani said: the quality score of resuscitation between groups “reporting and workshop” and “reporting and control” showed a significant difference.
He added: holding sessions reporting recorded resuscitation improves neonatal resuscitation more than the training workshop method, and it is suggested that it be used as a new training method for teaching neonatal resuscitation in medical care centers.
It should be noted that this research was published in Evidence based care journal of Midwifery and Nursing Faculty of Mashhad.
