Deployment of Sina System (Integrated Information System) in Mashhad University of Medical Sciences

The Health Deputy of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences announced the deployment of Sina System (integrated information system) in this Department.

According to WEBDA, stated in a gathering of liaisons of Electronic Health Records of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences held in Shahid Daliri Gol auditorium of this Department, Dr. Hamidreza Bahrami stated that given the necessity of completing fifteen fold health development programs in the area of health which are based on tenfold projects supporting development programs, and based on the fifth supporting project entitled “promotion of information technology and recording health information and statistics of the country”, this department has embarked on designing Sina System.

Noting that implementing the Electronic Health Records, emphasized in Article 35 of the Fifth Development Act, as one of the longstanding ambitions of the country’s health system, he pointed out that aiming to provide electronic health services, the Ministry of Health and Medical Education has established the Electronic Health Records of Iranian and Information Systems for health centers in coordination with the National Database of Statistical Center of Iran and the Census Organization considering privacy and confidentiality of information with the priority of Family Doctor Program as well as the Reference System. All governmental and non-governmental institutions are obliged to cooperate in this area.

The Health Deputy of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences stated that the Minister of Health has ordered to remove paperwork from health care networks of universities and provinces implementing the Electronic health records system. It is supposed to remove paperwork from correspondence completely and gradually.

The need for providing active services in the context Of Electronic Health Records, requirements for the infrastructures of Electronic Records, the existing performance and status of networks with respect to the infrastructure, and Electronic Health Records software were among the issues discussed.

The liaisons of Electronic Health Records of the affiliated cities provided a report of measures taken as follows: the status of connecting roads to the internet provided by the telecommunications company, computerized infrastructure for the society health centers, educational development of health care providers, and the amount development of recording services in the Electronic Health Record. Congregational prayers and Iftar are also among the performed programs. It is worth mentioning that this is the third gathering of liaisons of Electronic Health Records.
