💡 About the Innovation Center

The Vice-Chancellery for Research and Technology of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences (MUMS), in collaboration with the Health Technology Park, began developing and equipping the MUMS Health Innovation and Ideation Center and the Artificial Intelligence and Digital Health Innovation Center on the University campus in late 2023.

The Innovation Center provides a supportive environment for faculty members, researchers, students, innovators, and entrepreneurs to develop innovative ideas and explore their potential for implementation and commercialization in the healthcare sector.

🚀 From Idea to Innovation

The Innovation Center is particularly suitable for individuals and teams whose projects are at the idea or early-development stage.

The Center provides an opportunity to explore and evaluate innovative ideas in areas such as:

• Feasibility and technical assessment of innovative ideas
• Market potential and commercialization opportunities
• Regulatory and licensing requirements
• Intellectual property and patent considerations
• Development of commercialization pathways
• Collaboration with industry and technology transfer

Registration of a formal company is not required to benefit from the Innovation Center’s services and facilities.

🔄 Innovation Center vs. Growth Center

The Innovation Center and Growth Centers serve different stages of the innovation process:

• Innovation Center: Designed for ideas that are still at an early stage and require further evaluation, development, market assessment, and validation.
• Growth Centers: More appropriate for projects that have progressed beyond the initial idea stage and have developed a prototype, product, or more mature technology.

This distinction allows innovators to receive appropriate support according to the stage of development of their idea or technology.

🌱 Supporting Innovation and Commercialization

The establishment of the Innovation Center responds to a common challenge faced by innovative projects and startups: promising ideas may fail because their market potential, feasibility, or commercialization pathway has not been adequately assessed at an early stage.

The Center helps innovators refine their ideas, better understand market needs, assess their potential, and prepare for further development and commercialization. It also provides opportunities for individuals and teams who wish to pursue commercialization without establishing a formal company at the initial stage. The Artificial Intelligence and Digital Health Innovation Unit focuses on innovative approaches involving artificial intelligence, digital health technologies, health data, and technology-enabled healthcare solutions.
